The Tan Chong Challenge returns for 2023

Tan Chong International Limited has announced that the Subaru Car Challenge will be returning this year, but with a twist!

This 2023 iteration of the endurance challenge which has always seen participants from across Asia placing their palms on a Subaru over an extended period in a test of endurance and stamina will now be called the Tan Chong Car Challenge and will take place at Ngee Ann City Civic Plaza come 4 November 2023.

Participants from among the Singapore squad will be able to win either a Subaru Forester or a Nissan Kicks in this year's competition

The previous editions of the challenge have seen determined contenders from across Asia coming to Singapore to take part, and this year should be no different, with Luan Tu Lạng from Vietnam - the second runner-up in the 2017 iteration of the competition - set to return as one of the five representatives hailing from Vietnam having outlasted the competition in the pre-qualifying round.

For Singaporean contestants, this year's grand prize can also either be a Nissan Kicks e-POWER, or a Subaru Forester, with the car offered determined by which vehicle the victor's palm is resting on when he/she is declared the Last One Standing.

Those interested in participating can do so via the competition page here. A $25 registration fee will be collected from every participant from the Singapore leg of the Tan Chong Car Challenge, however, participants will also receive a goody bag containing merchandise worth more than $25 from Tan Chong as a token of appreciation. 100% of the collected registration fees will also be donated to the Methodist Welfare Services.

And for those that would rather not participate, Nissan will also be hosting games at Ngee Ann City Civic Plaza for members of the public to participate in and win free cup noodles. Visitors are also invited to shout "I want my e-POWER now!" beside a giant cup noodle installation to win more goodies. The installation shares more about the firm's e-POWER technology, which delivers instant power and acceleration with no plug-in charging.
