Subaru U.S.A unveils all-new, all-electric 2027 Getaway

Subaru U.S.A has unveiled its all-new, all-electric 2027 Getaway at the 2026 New York International Auto Show.

Heralded as the most powerful production Subaru, the Getaway features Subaru's next-gen EV styling elements. This can be seen from the brand's unique lighting signature up front (including a six-star illuminated logo on all trim levels), dynamic daytime running lights that conveniently indicate charging status when connected, and front headlamps with dedicated washers.

Robust ladder-type roof rails are standard on most trim levels, offering more storage options. Along the body sides, clean bodylines and flush door handles offer a contemporary look with added aerodynamic efficiency.

At the back, a three-dimensional illuminated Subaru logo rear gate garnish and distinctive lighting signature offer an enhanced nighttime presence. And depending on the trim level, 19- and 20-inch wheels come as standard.

Inside, the Getaway offers a standard 14-inch Subaru Multimedia touchscreen and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster. It also has a large, fixed panoramic sunroof (on specific trim levels) and multiple storage areas for tablets, phones, and personal items. Heated front seats come as standard, while heated second- and third-row seats, ventilated front and second-row seats, and a 360° heated steering wheel are equipped on certain trim levels.

The 2027 Getaway features both front and rear electric motors (all-wheel drive) that delivers a combined output of 309kW, allowing it to complete the century sprint in less than five seconds. Subaru says the new model will also be equipped with a 95.8kWh battery that allows the model to cover more than 483km on a single charge and - with a DC charging rate of 150kW - replenishes from 10-80% in approximately 30 minutes.

Subaru says that the 2027 Getaway will arrive at retailers nationwide starting from late 2026. In addition, from 2027, the Getaway will receive a standard-range model with a 77.0kWh battery and all-wheel drive, with further details to be made available closer to its market launch.
