The police yesterday issued information on the traffic and security arrangements for the National Day Parade (NDP) on Sunday. There will be road closures around the event area and people who want to get there are advised to use public transport, reported The Straits Times.
Traffic delays are expected along North Bridge Road, Beach Road, Bras Basah Road, Hill Street, Cecil Street, Collyer Quay, Battery Road, Bayfront Avenue, Marina Boulevard, Marina Gardens Drive, Marina Mall, Mountbatten Road, Tanjong Rhu Road, Rhu Cross, Stadium Crescent, Stadium Walk and Stadium Way.
Police officers and Singapore Armed Forces marshals will be deployed at affected junctions to direct motorists. Bus services affected by the road closures will also be diverted.
After the parade, City Hall, Promenade and Bayfront MRT Stations are expected to be very crowded. Commuters should use alternative MRT stations such as Raffles Place, Esplanade, Bugis or Clarke Quay.
It is an offence to fly an unmanned aircraft into or within the special event area without a valid permit.
The public can contact the organisers at 1800-637-2015 to enquire about the NDP and road closures.
