Volkswagen Group BEV sales continue to grow

The Volkswagen Group has announced that it has seen deliveries of its battery-electric vehicles reach 531,500 globally for the first nine months of 2023, representing an increase of 45% compared to the same period in 2022.
For context, this has seen its share of its battery-electric deliveries rise to 7.9% compared to 6.1% in the prior year period. The group states that its total share of battery electric vehicle deliveries in the third year alone climbed to 9.0%, compared to 6.8% in the third quarter of 2022.
Europe remained a key driver for the growth of battery electric vehicle demand for the group, with a total of 341,100 vehicles delivered. Battery-electric vehicle deliveries totalled 50,300 units in the U.S.A. Battery-electric vehicle deliveries in China, meanwhile totalled 117,100 units.
The Volkswagen Group states further that its most successful battery electric vehicle models in the first nine months of 2023 were the Volkswagen ID.4 and ID.5, the Volkswagen ID.3, the Audi Q4 e-tron, Skoda Enyaq iV, Cupra Born, and the Audi Q8 e-tron.
