Volkswagen Group of America (VWGoA) today announced that hundreds of employees from across the country recently volunteered with Generosity Feeds as part of the organisation's 2018 VWGoA Get Involved Summer of Service.
Employees packed over 35,000 meals for American children in need in local VWGoA communities.
Last year, colleagues in Herndon, Virginia, helped to pack 5,000 meals for students at a Northern Virginia school. This year's multi-location initiative will be nearly seven times more impactful.
VWGoA colleagues packed meals to help support local schools and food pantries in VWGoA communities nationwide.
"More than 13 million children in America struggle with hunger. That's one in every six. We are so grateful to our friends at Volkswagen for partnering with us in this nationwide effort," said Ron Klabunde, Founder and CEO of Generosity Feeds. "Employees from these six sites share an incredible amount of talent and heart. Together, they'll make a significant, positive difference in every community they touch this summer."
The Get Involved Summer of Service is an annual initiative, from May to early September, designated as a concentrated time for employees to volunteer with organisations and initiatives in VWGoA communities nationwide.
