Limited to just 50 units locally, the Golf Rabbit has new multi-spoke Pescara 16-inch wheels, keyless entry and exit and a start-stop button for ignition. There is also a unique rabbit badge on the tailgate that identifies it from its other Golf siblings.
Under the bonnet, the Golf Rabbit is identical to the Golf 1.4 TSI, on which it is based, with its 1.4-litre TSI petrol engine producing 122bhp. With its seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, the Golf Rabbit will be able to sprint from 0-100km/h in 9.5 seconds.
Mr Colin Yong, Volkswagen Singapore's spokesman, says that the response to the Golf Rabbit limited edition model will determine whether there will be future such customised models for Singapore. The Golf Rabbit goes on sale on January 29, and is priced similarly to the Golf 1.4 TSI, at $111,800 with COE.
