Volkswagen to reveal the new fifth generation Golf R on 4 November

The first Golf R32 was an automotive sensation. Introduced in 2002 with 234bhp, all-wheel drive, and capable of 0-100km/h in 6.6 seconds. Four successive generations of the Golf R have been developed from the R32 and now the countdown begins for the world premiere of a new Golf R, which happens 4 November 2020.
The new Golf R is more agile and more powerful than those before it. Equipped with Volkswagen's 4Motion all-wheel drive with wheel-selective torque control on the rear axle, this system is controlled by a vehicle dynamics manager that is linked with other systems like the electronic differential locks and the adaptive damping.
The new Golf R offers optimal traction, excellent handling and maximum driving pleasure. The engine is the most powerful version of the EA888 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder available. The engine has a water-cooled exhaust gas duct to the turbocharger integrated in the cylinder head, and variable valve timing with dual camshaft adjustment.
With the fifth generation of the Volkswagen Golf R, Volkswagen looks to redefine the status quo of driving dynamics once more.
