Volvo starts production of the EX90 in the U.S.A

Volvo has kickstarted production of the new EX90 all-electric SUV at its plant outside Charleston, South Carolina, in the U.S.A.

The first customer-bound example of the EX90 rolled out of the plant finished in Denim Blue, and is now headed to a customer in the U.S.A.

Volvo's first manufacturing plant in the U.S.A opened in mid-2018 and now manufactures the S60. The site is said to have the capacity to build up to 150,000 cars per year, and has seen a host of recent investments including the expansion of its body and paint shop, as well as the addition of a state-of-the-art battery pack production line.

The Volvo EX90 is offers a range of up to 600km and has been designed to be the safest Volvo car to date. It additionally comes equipped with a host of next-generation passive and active safety technology and software informed by a broad suite of sensors. First customer deliveries of the EX90 in the U.S.A are scheduled to begin in the second half of 2024.
