Walmart to deliver with electric vans

Electrified last-mile delivery solutions firm owned by General Motors BrightDrop has announced that it is adding Walmart to its growing list of customers.
The announcement comes as Walmart signs on an agreement for 5,000 of BrightDrop's EV600 and smaller EV410 electric delivery vans. The electric vans will serve as part of Walmart's InHome delivery service, which the retailer announced it will be rapidly expanding to become accessible to 30 million household in the U.S.A by the end of the year.
The move comes just after global transport firm FedEx signed an agreement with BrightDrop reserving priority production for 2,000 electric delivery vans over the next few years, adding to FedEx's initial reservation of 500 BrightDrop EVs announced in 2021.
The new electric vans will support Walmart's goal of operating a zero-emissions logistics fleet by 2040. Expect BrightDrop's electric vans to begin hitting the road for Walmart deliveries in the U.S.A as early as 2023.
