Nissan's second 100 percent electric vehicle starts global production in Spain

Nissan has started the production of its second all electric vehicle - the e-NV200 - providing a emissions-free solution for urban cargo delivery and taxi companies. The Nissan plant in Barcelona will be the global production site for this groundbreaking emissions-free van, and will be available as a light commercial van, passenger vehicle and electric taxi.


He went on to explaint how bringing a significant number of zero emission vehicles to the streets of Barcelona will ensure cleaner air for its residents and tourists alike.
The ceremony was attended by Spanish Ministry of Industry, Jose Manuel Soria, Catalan President, Artur Mas and the Mayor of Barcelona, Xavier Trias.
At the event, Mr. Palmer commented, "This is a great landmark day for Nissan, starting production of our second electric vehicle. This is at a time when EV's are now recognised as mainstream technology, many competitors are only just starting to launch their first EV and where Nissan has clear first mover advantage".
With more than 110,000 customers for the Nissan Leaf, Mr. Palmer added the firm is proud for the Nissan Leaf to be hailed as the best selling electric vehicle in the world.

Barcelona will be the first city in the world to introduce the e-NV200 as a 100 percent electric taxi, an initiative Andy Palmer, Nissan's Chief Planning Officer, believes is vital for the city.
