Aston Martin Vulcan in tribute to its V bomber namesake

It's not often that Aston Martin's track-only monster - the Vulcan - gets completely dwarfed and out-horsepowered. After all, it packs a 7.0-litre V12 that makes over 800bhp, which is a ton of power, all things considered.
However, the car's namesake, the Avro Vulcan, is capable of a whole lot more. Admittedly, it is a 1950s British V bomber jet, the last remaining airworthy one that prepares for its final flight later this month. The Vulcan XH558 is due to retire from active service in October. Ahead of that final flight, the famous Cold War-era long range bomber was paired with the Aston Martin Vulcan via a special fly-past at Elvington Airfield in Yorkshire, U.K.
Aston Martin CEO, Dr. Andy Palmer, said, "Clearly the Avro Vulcan provided the inspiration for the naming of our most extreme sports car, and I'm delighted that we have been able to unite the 'two Vulcans' and deliver our own tribute to this world-renowned aeronautical phenomenon."
