Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS undergoes final testing

The 718 family is set to get a new top-of-the-range model, the 718 Cayman GT4 RS.

The model has already undergone its final testing and evaluation drives and demonstrated its dynamic potential both on twisty mountain roads and on the racetrack.

Brand Ambassador and Development Driver Jorg Bergmeister has lapped the 20.832km Nurburgring-Nordschleife circuit in a lightly disguised production car, which completed the circuit in seven minutes and 9.3 seconds.

The 718 Cayman GT4 RS also completed the shorter 20.6km lap, which had previously served as the benchmark, in seven minutes and 4.5 seconds. This time is 23.6 seconds faster than its little brother, the 718 Cayman GT4.

To protect the driver, the car was equipped with a racing seat. The tyres fitted to the car were Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 Rs, which will be optionally available. A notary confirmed the standard condition and weight of the car.

The new top model of the 718 family is scheduled to make its world premiere in November 2021.
