Not impressed by the 542bhp output of the Bentley Bentayga S? Or perhaps you find the 631bhp of the Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT a little lacking?
Aston Martin now has just the solution for you. Enter, the new Aston Martin DBX707. The performance luxury SUV, the firm claims, is the world's most powerful, with an output of 697bhp (707PS) alongside a peak torque of 900Nm, squeezed out of the familiar Mercedes-AMG-sourced 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8.
The Aston Martin DBX707 gets a quad exhaust system, larger rear diffuser, alongside a new lip spoiler on its roof wing Those figures mean the Aston Martin DBX707 pushes out 156bhp, and 200Nm more torque than the regular DBX, and comes courtesy of new ball bearing turbochargers and a bespoke engine calibration.
The high-performance SUV also comes with a new nine-speed wet clutch automatic transmission, said to deliver faster gear changes, and contributing to its final zero to 100km/h sprint time of just 3.3 seconds.
Helping to keep that V8 cool is a larger grille, sporting a new design for the Aston Martin DBX707 at the front. The daytime running lights at the lower corners of the car here also give way to new intakes.
Further up, there are new louvred bonnet blades on the car's bonnet, which match with the new dark satin chrome window surrounds and gloss black side sills.
The performance SUV is also offered with 22-inch rims as standard, although 23-inch items are available as an option And at the rear, the car gets a new lip spoiler on its roof wing, alongside an enlarged twin rear diffuser for improved aerodynamic downforce for stability at speed. There's also a new quad exhaust system, finished in satin black and tuned to bring forth the V8's sound signature.
All that power, of course, requires fine handling and the Aston Martin DBX707 does not come wanting.
The performance SUV gets carbon ceramic brakes to start, measuring 420mm at the front and 390mm rear. These are gripped by six-piston calipers and offer a 40.5kg reduction in unsprung weight.
Then there's also the electronic limited-slip rear differential, strengthened to handle 900Nm of torque, which works alongside a recalibrated air suspension system
Dark chrome finish interior switchgear is designed to match the exterior darkened window surrounds and side skirts Open the soft-close doors of the Aston Martin DBX707, and you'll find an equally sporty interior.
Aston Martin's sport seats fitted as standard here, although comfort seats are available as a no-cost option.
Customers will be able to choose between a mix of leather and Alcantara, in the cabin, or the use of semi-Aniline leather, complete with embroidered Aston Martin wings on the headrest, a contrast stripe down the centre of the seat, and the use of a perforation pattern in the seat back and base cushion.
As with the exterior, the Aston Martin DBX707 features a dark chrome finish on its interior switchgear as standard, although bright chrome and carbon fibre can be specified as an option. A Piano Black veneer is standard with carbon fibre or bronze metal mesh veneer finishes available as an option.
Production of the Aston Martin DBX707 is scheduled to begin early 2022, with first deliveries scheduled to begin shortly after.
