Planning a holiday to Europe or North America? Your next rental car could soon be a Polestar. This is because the global car rental firm has just announced that it is purchasing up to 65,000 all-electric vehicles from Polestar over the next five years.
These cars, set to comprise of the Polestar 2 for initial orders, are expected to become available from the rental firm starting from the first half of 2022 in Europe and in late 2022 in North America and Australia.
For Hertz, the new partnership with Polestar builds on its commitment announced last year that it would offer its customers the largest electric vehicle rental fleet in North America and one of the largest in the world. The firm states there are also plans to make its electric cars available to rideshare drivers as a way to further accelerate electrification.
