The Mini Recharged Lakwena has been revealed as one of the most colourful Minis ever which is characterised by bursts of colors and patterns. The Mini is designed by London-based Artist Lakwena Maciver, who chose the 1986 Mini which coincides with the year of her birth.
The Mini is now an ambassador for the Mini recharged project, in which the petroleum engine was swapped out for electric motors. The model follows Paul Smith's Mini Recharged, making it the second one to be transformed into a work of art.
Lakwena herself chose the Mini's central motto to be her personal mural of 'Big Love'. She also remarked that the intention of the design was to make people feel good and was also a celebration of the diverse journeys and paths different people have taken which is represented by the bright applied patterns and colours.
Mini will be sponsoring the beach volleyball and climbing competitions at Munich's Konigsplatz. The European Championships will be accompanied by numerous programmes of fitness, nutrition, mindfulness, art and music. The Mini Recharged Lakwena will also be featured from 12 August to 17 August 2022.
