Singapore Motor Show is back once again! After a year of COE hikes, car prices remain rather high - of course there are some rather attractive offerings this year around the ballpark of $150,000 or so, but it is still a lot of money.
So, here's what you can check out at Singapore Motor Show 2026 if you aren't actively looking to buy a new car (like me).
Complete simple tasks and grab the freebies!
Being a true blue, kiasu Singaporean, the first order of the day is of course, to grab all the freebies that are available from the various booths! Okay, it usually isn't as straightforward as asking for it with a thick skin - brands will likely require you to complete simple tasks before handing the goods over.
Well, you don't really get free stuff without doing anything - but hey, they are all simple tasks such as following social media accounts, posting photos and tagging the brands
But it's usually simple tasks such as following their various social media accounts, taking photos and tagging them.
This year, Hyundai is giving out a personalised key strap, as well as various IONIQ-themed enamel pins. XPENG has some Chinese New Year-themed bears up for grabs, while brands such as IM Motors, BYD Denza, Zeekr and Mazda are giving out little trinkets, blind boxes and various little gifts - be sure to check out their booths!
Many brands have also brought along their official merchandise - apparel, model cars, and many other lifestyle products are all here
Check out the official merchandise from your favourite brands!
Apart from bringing their latest and shiniest cars to the show, most brands will also bring along their branded merchandise and lifestyle products that are in line with their brand - some will even be selling aftermarket bits and pieces for their cars!
If you are looking for branded merchandise, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Honda, Smart and Subaru are some brands that you can check out. This is the best time for you to shop for official merchandise as there are often substantial discounts on apparels, model cars and other items.
If you are an existing customer, many brands are also offering free refreshments.
Detailing supplies and car accessories can all be found with plenty of discounts available at the level three atrium at Singapore Motor Show
Go shopping!
This is something that I do every year. I always take the opportunity to stock up on detailing supplies that will last me throughout the year. While the main exhibitors of this year's edition of the Singapore Motor Show are scattered across the halls on level 4 and 6, the atrium area on level 3 is where you can find the various booths selling accessories and supplies for car owners.
Over here, you can find detailing products from Meguiar's, Armorall, 3M and many other brands with discounts of up to 50% off. Various car accessories and products including PIAA wipers, Hummer portable jump starters, dashcams, headunits and even some interesting accessories for the OBU.
If you aren't in the market for a new car, but are interested in some hot new two-wheelers, Honda has also brought along a wide range of motorbikes for you to get up close with, and learn more about!
Get driving! (well, sort of)
Everyone who has purchased a ticket to Singapore Motor Show 2026 can pop by Intrigg Hobbies booth located just behind the ticketing booths on level 6 for a free 20-laps slot car session. Slot cars are powered model cars that runs on a slotted track - somewhat like radio-controlled cars, but with a heavy focus on throttle control.
While the cars are slotted into the track, if you were to go too fast, the car will dislodge and fly out of the track. And even if the car remains on the track, it could be disconnected from the slot and lose power. While they might not look challenging, slot cars is a fun hobby that looks easier than it really is, and you really have to try it to understand its allure and challenge.
Slot cars are highly detailed - you can display and admire them even if you choose not to run them on the tracks
Slot cars of all brands and models of cars are available, and these little cars are usually highly detailed! Even if you aren't racing them on the tracks, the slot cars will make for an excellent display for car lovers!
Apart from slot cars, Toyota's booth also has a driving simulator where you can drive some GR cars virtually. For the uninitiated, driving simulators aren't like your arcade driving games. Instead, these are virtual experiences designed to be similar to actual driving - it takes plenty of skills to master! Be it slot cars or driving on the simulator, those itching for some driving action can pop by for a great time!
Of course, don't forget to check out some cars!
Okay, I did say that this is a list of things to do for those that aren't intending to buy a new car, but you should still definitely check out and experience all the latest cars that are being showcased here! Approach the friendly brand representatives and I'm sure that they would be more than happy to share about the cars.
Oh, and here are some cars that I feel that you should definitely check out - and these include cars that aren't even for sale!
Mercedes-AMG brought the Concept AMG GT XX in its original condition after its record-breaking run at the Nardo test track in Italy
