TSER is a much more relevant and accurate test of heat rejection that takes the entire spectrum of light into consideration. A car's interior can get as hot as 90 degrees Celsius after being parked under the sun for extended hours. With Solar Gard's LX film, the temperature of a car that has been parked in the sun can be as low as 41 degrees Celsius.

Metallic materials are usually deposited onto polyester films by a technique called 'sputtering' to produce metallised solar films. SolarGard employs a patented sputtering technology that allows particles to be positioned such that just the right amount of coverage can be offered while still letting light through.
