The best cars at Motor Show 2026 that you can't buy (yet)

The annual Singapore Motor Show is a big showcase of the best that the car industry has to offer. From accessible compact hatchbacks and family sedans to premium SUVs and luxury models, it's a big sales showcase that caters to every Singaporean car buyer.
But, besides cars you can buy right now (that's another story you should first read), it's also an opportunity for brands to showcase the future - whether in concept car form, or else some models that could be offered in Singapore some time in the future.
Here, we highlight some of the most exciting cars that you can't buy right now (but keep your eyes peeled, some of these models may be available later in the future):
1. AVATR 012
One of just 700 units of available globally, the AVATR 012 is co-designed by AVATR's Chief Design Officer Nader Faghihzadeh and Kim Jones, the acclaimed fashion visionary and former Artistic Director of Dior Men's and Fendi Women's Ready-to-Wear. This car represents the pinnacle of the brand's couture-inspired craftsmanship.
2. BMW Skytop
One of just 50 in the world, the BMW Skytop is an extreme expression of dynamism and luxury. And yes, even with a shocking price tag (there's no official pricing, but it's reportedly half a million euros), all 50 units have been spoken for (we understand that owners need to be specially invited by BMW to purchase this car).
Paying homage to the iconic 3.0 CSL "Batmobile", underneath the exotic sheet metal sits a 4.4-litre V8 that produces 617bhp, allowing this roadster to sprint to 100km/h in just 3.3 seconds.
3. BMW Vision Neue Klasse X
The Vision Neue Klasse X is a concept car that foretells the future of BMW models, but actually the first production model of the Neue Klasse has already been unveiled - it's the iX3, which you can read our first drive impressions here.
Besides showcasing a distinctly new design language, it's worth also checking out the Vision Neue Klasse X's cabin - here you'll get your first look at the new Panoramic iDrive digital user experience concept, headlined by the Panoramic Vision display.
4. Dongfeng MHERO II
The MHERO II is a full-size SUV that's absolutely massive - it measures 5.1m long, almost 2m wide and almost 2m tall, and weighs under 3 tonnes. Its rather tank-like design speaks to its off-road positioning - it uses a plug-in hybrid powertrain with electric motors on both axles, with performance rated at 505kW and 848Nm of torque.
Sgcarmart understands that this car is expected to be offered in Singapore in the second half of 2026, but there are no confirmed specifications yet.
5. Hongqi Guoli/Guoya
This is what Chinese ultra-luxe looks like: Dripping in rich materials, plenty comfortable, and yes just a little bit ostentatiously designed. The Guoli is an ultra-exclusive, ultra-luxury limousine (it's the official Chinese state car used by Xi Jinping; it's the most expensive China-made car and a limited-production model).
Less exclusive and arguably no less luxurious is the Guoya - powered by a plug-in powertrain, it also features ample luxury materials like wood veneer and Nappa leather.
6. Hyptec SSR
Low-slung, two doors, 1,207bhp. Yep, another insane all-electric hypercar is upon us. It's called the Hyptec SSR, and it'll do the century sprint in 1.9 seconds.
Of course, performance isn't just about speed in a straight line. With advanced aerodynamic control and extensive use of carbon fibre to reduce weight, this car also currently holds the Guinness World Record for the highest drift speed. Will it make it way to Singapore? We would like to hope so.
7. Mercedes Concept AMG GT XX
Another low-slung two door 1,000+bhp electric hypercar? Why not. This portends the future of Mercedes' AMG performance division (it previews the upcoming AMG.EA architecture entering production this year), and it looks entirely as wild and bonkers as you imagine it to be.
Besides absurd straight-line performance, this car has also shattered 25 long-distance records, including the longest distance covered by a vehicle in 24 hours.
8. XPENG P7
This electric sports sedan represents the next chapter of XPENG's design and technological evolution. Beneath its striking exterior that seamlessly integrates lighting, sensors and aerodynamics, the XPENG P7 delivers full-scale AI capability powered by three self-developed Turing AI chips.
XPENG has yet to release a right-hand drive model for export markets, but we understand that there are potentially plans to launch this model in Singapore in 2027.
9. Zeekr 9X
The Zeekr 9X is the brand's flagship SUV model, and has been tentatively confirmed for a early-2027 launch. That's a long time away, but in the meantime what you should know is that it's a full-size SUV that seats seven. It's built on a 900V architecture, supporting immense performance, ultra-fast charging, and intelligent driving dynamics.
There are no confirmed specifications for the car that will be offered in Singapore, but the model available in China should offer an idea of the available equipment and performance figures.
