2024 Ioniq 5 nets IIHS Top Safety Pick+ rating

The 2024 Hyundai Ioniq 5 (read our review of the Ioniq 5 here) has earned the U.S.A Insurance Institute of Highway Safety's Top Safety Pick+ award.

The 2024 Ioniq 5 is said to feature additional reinforcements to its B-pillar and door sill to meet the latest, more stringent side crash testing now performed by the safety institute. The car is offered in the U.S.A with a range in excess of 480km, as well as a host of Hyundai SmartSense advanced safety features.

The Ioniq 5 is available in the U.S.A with LED projector head lights that received a 'Good' rating, or LED reflectors that received an 'Acceptable' rating.  Its standard front crash prevention system earned a 'Superior' rating in the daytime vehicle-to-pedestrian evaluation and an 'Advanced' rating in the night-time test.
