6km of cycling paths open in the Central Business District

Cycling to work has now gotten a lot easier, if you happen to work in the Central Business District that is.
The LTA has announced that a total of 6km of cycling paths have now opened within the Central Business District. The new cycling paths come equipped with a total of 4,800 public bicycle parking spaces, so you won’t have to drag your bicycle up with you into the office.
The LTA has widened existing crossings and added new crossings along the cycling paths to ensure a safe commute for all users Look out for bicycle parking spaces at former car parking locations along Club Street, Boon Tat Street, Bukit Pasoh Road, Jiak Chuan Road, Telok Ayer Street and Tras Street.
And you won't have to look far to find end-of-trip facilities such as lockers, shower stalls, and changing rooms either. The LTA states that a total of 14 developments in the area have already made use of the Active Commute Grant in order to offer more facilities for cyclists.
Already plotting your new early morning routine? You'll be glad to note that the new network is connected to MRT stations including Clarke Quay, Tanjong Pagar, and Telok Ayer station, as well as the three newly opened Thomson-East Coast Line stations which include Shenton Way, Marina Bay and Gardens by the Bay.
And of course, those keener on leisure rides will also be able to utilise the new paths to head on down to Marina Bay and Marina Barrage.
