The Land Transport Authority (LTA) will be conducting a number of rail road shows to enlighten commuters on the massive scale engineering work behind MRT tunnels, which thousands of commuters travel through to their destinations daily.
The Straits Times also added that a miniature version of the two-storey high, 50-tonne tunnel boring machine which grinds through rock and dirt to dig tunnels will be on display. The road show will run from November to January at Parkway Parade, Thomson Plaza, Bedok Mall, and Katong 112.
Besides the engineering aspects behind the MRT tunnels, the road show will also illustrate the expansion of Singapore's rail network, while, in addition, visitors can also learn about rail expansion plans and preview MRT station layouts.
On the weekends, visitors can take part in games and quizzes to learn more about what it takes to build a rail line. Roving exhibits on new MRT lines will also be on display at public libraries from January to May 2015, reported the English daily.
