A U.K. firm is converting Jimnys into compact trucks for farmers and off-roaders

A U.K. firm is now offering off-roaders and farmers in the county the opportunity to get an affordable bespoke vehicle based on the old Suzuki Jimny.

Yomer, based in West Yorkshire, U.K., offers the bespoke Jimnys in two specifications. The first is a 'Bergen' tray back and the second, a drop side 'Commercial' specification. Both cars are available with two wheelbases and can take a payload of 500kg and come with a 12-month warranty.

The Yompers both sport a brand new chassis which the body of the Jimny, after the necessary modifications, is reattached to. Yomper states the specially adapted long wheelbase chassis is developed to deliver an unparalleled combination of load space and off-road capability, making its vehicles ideal for farm applications, off-road utility or sports and leisure pursuits.

Under the bonnet, the Yompers utilise the standard Suzuki 1.3-litre petrol engine.

However, the engine does get its running gear comprehensively overhauled and rebuilt in-house with many new components and serious upgrades to ensure its ability as a workhorse, all included as part of the purchase of a vehicle from Yomper, making the vehicle as possible to a brand new vehicle as is reasonably possible.
