ABT tunes the potent RS4 Avant - removes speed limiter
15 Dec 2012|4,142 views
Ever since 1999, when it was first introduced, the Audi RS4 seems to be the favourite model for German specialist tuners ABT Sportsline. Every new generation of the testosterone inducing Audi RS4, has seen an uprating.

The estate's top speed at 250 km/h, courtesy of the factory fitted limiter, has been increased. Speed demons out there would be glad to know that ABT can actually forego the limiter for the 'proper' top speed of 290km/h.
The optionally available stainless-steel exhaust system provides a bass-heavy soundtrack that only can be outmatched by Dj's from Ministry of Sound. From the catalytic converter, ABT has optimised the exhaust system with enhanced components that has tuned up the already capable V8 orchestra.
Where it proves its worth aurally - it rather disappoints visually. ABT has held onto a rather subtle approach to its design, with minimum notable changes. We could not make out much changes with the exception of the 20-inch ABT DR design alloys - whose design reminds us that of the McLaren Mercedes SLR.

Likewise the current ABT-raped RS4 is powered by a 4.2-litre V8 with 450bhp boasting the fasting accelerating figures among its predecessors. Despite that - a crucial element has been left untouched.
