Characterised by special details and distinctive finishes, the preview of the convertible variant to the 4C Coupe is an exercise in style aimed at selecting the contents to be implemented in the standard production car, scheduled for the beginning of next year.

The search for new stylistic solutions can also be seen in the new clamshell headlights, the distinctive alloy rims and the large Pirelli tyres.
To further enhance the unique quality of the Spider version, Alfa Romeo's designers have chosen a particular leather upholstery that results from the finest tradition of Italian craftsmanship.
The Alfa Romeo 4C Spider Concept has a length of approximately 4,000mm and a wheelbase of less than 2,400mm. The dimensions emphasise the car's compact attributes while also accentuating its agility. An in-depth aerodynamic study aided in minimising the air turbulence in the passenger compartment with the soft top down, making for an equally pleasant drive even when maintaining high speeds.
Thanks to the quality of the coupe and its carbon chassis, Alfa Romeo believes the 4C Spider will also guarantee a category-leading power-to-weight ratio thanks to a total dry weight of less than 1,000kg. The show car adopts a dual-stage central exhaust system concept with titanium and carbon tailpipes by Akrapovic. Among its most distinctive features is the electrically operated valve with wireless technology.
The four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine, code-named '1750', is teamed with the innovative Alfa TCT automatic twin dry clutch transmission, which can be changed in sequential mode using the paddles located behind the steering wheel. The DNA selector lets the driver change the car's temperament to adapt it to the conditions it is subjected to at the moment. In addition to the three settings - Dynamic, Natural and All-Weather - the device has a fourth mode: Race.

Over this unmistakably elegant Italian 'attire' are the specific carbon roll bar cover and the striking carbon windscreen ring, which combine the concepts of lightness and resistance, in line with Alfa Romeo's exclusive synthesis of 'functional beauty'.
