Alfa Romeo MiTo art car on display in the UK

The new MiTo 1.3 JTDM-2 is exempted from London’s Congestion Charge due to its low emissions, and Alfa Romeo wanted to highlight the car’s green credentials by enlisting the help of artist Louise Dear to showcase her artwork on the car. The resulting piece is entitled ‘Because I Can', and is inspired by Louise’s 17 year old daughter.Louise said: "I really wanted to capture Alfa Romeo's heritage and elegance within my creation, while bringing out the stylish and fashionable aspects of the Alfa MiTo. The Alfa MiTo is targeted at a young, stylish audience who have a positive attitude to life, and are focussed on being successful, and within my painting I have tried to bring this across using a combination of designs that convey powerful imagery mixed with elegance and beauty."
The car will now go on a tour throughout various Castle Galleries museums around the UK, starting with the Artica Galleries, Covent Garden on July 14. Brand Communications Manager for Alfa Romeo UK, Naz Jamil, said: "Within this project we worked closely with Castle Galleries and Louise Dear to create a work of art which brings out the key message behind the Congestion Charge-friendly Alfa MiTo. The floral based design and vibrant colour selection conveys the car's fun and even greener credentials, whilst fully incorporating the young and stylish image of the Alfa MiTo."
