Alfa Romeo has unveiled a new 33 Stradale, inspired by the 1967 Tipo 33.
The new 33 Stradale is limited to just 33 exclusive units and comes with a 641bhp twin-turbo V6 paired to an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission that sends power exclusively to the rear wheels.
Customers may, however, also opt for a 740bhp all-electric variant that offers up a WLTP range of 450km. Alfa Romeo states that the petrol-powered variant will hit a top speed of 333km/h and complete the century sprint in less than 3.0 seconds.
As you'd expect of any car that is inspired by the Tipo 33, the 33 Stradale has sheet metal that is sure to turn heads. The 33 Stradale gets a muscular front, featuring the Alfa Romeo shield in a pattern that is replicated by the LED elements around the elliptical head lights. A slender profile shows off the car's large air inlets that sit aft of butterfly doors. At the rear, the car gets a truncated tail, and round taillight clusters.
The car also gets a roof made from carbon fibre an aluminium, to support the exotic doors, while is window frames are made of carbon fibre. The car also gets a polycarbonate rear window.
The interior of the car gets a minimalist design, with the limited number of controls located on the centre console and a steering wheel devoid of buttons, so the driver's focus is placed on the driving experience. The wraparound seats present in the 33 Stradale are said to be a reinterpretation of those in the Tipo 33.
The car also gets an aviation-inspired dashboard and centre console that makes use of aluminium, carbon fibre, leather and Alcantara. Ahead of the driver is an instrument cluster which Alfa Romeo terms as a 3D telescope display.
Valtteri Bottas, the Finnish champion will support the car’s tuning, which will take place at the Balocco Proving Ground in the Vercelli province of Italy. Alfa Romeo will additionally employ the craftsmanship of Carrozzeria Touring Superleggera to construct the 33 Stradale.
