BMW has unveiled a new iX1 eDrive20. The new car comes with a total output of 201bhp and 247Nm of torque (not low enough to be registered here in Singapore with a Cat A COE, if you're wondering), as compared to the 309bhp and 494Nm figures offered by the iX1 xDrive30.
BMW states that with this output, the iX1 eDrive20 will hit 100 km/h from a standstill in 8.6 seconds, and go on to reach a top speed of 170km/h. Both cars continue to utilise a 64.7kWh lithium-ion battery.
In the iX1 eDrive20, this battery can be charged at up to 11kW via an alternating current source (with 22kW charging offered as an added option), and up to 130kW via a direct current charger. With such a charger, the battery in the iX1 eDrive20 can be topped up from 10% to 80% state of charge within 29 minutes. The car will additionally begin pre-conditioning of its battery if a charging stop is planned within the navigation system.
The all-electric crossover will continue to utilise BMW's Curved Display in its cabin, which comprises of a 10.25-inch Information Display and a 10.7-inch Control Display, although the latter now runs BMW's Operating System 9.
This new operating system offers a wider range of digital content, faster update cycles for over-the-air functions, as well as optimised access to many online services including third-party apps, extended navigation and parking services, and also opens up additional personalisation options.
The iX1 eDrive20 additionally comes with BMW's Maps navigation system, two-zone automatic air conditioning, and the firm's Parking Assistant system as standard.
