Alpine has announced that it will be building a special edition A110 R 70 to mark the firm's 70th anniversary.
The Alpine A110 R 70 gets added lashings of carbon fibre, utilised as the predominant material for its body panels from its front bonnet to its rear window. The car also gets 18-inch carbon wheels, which come wrapped in Michelin PS Cup 2 tyres and are highlighted by the application of a coloured trim.

The car will be available in 10 different body colours and four interior design schemes and will also come with an Akrapovic exhaust system. Customers will also get to choose between seven different colours for their Brembo brake callipers. The car will also come with a special 70th anniversary logo on its wheel arches, door sill and headrest, and gets the monogram of the French flag on the exterior pillar and inside the doors.
A total of 70 examples of the A110 R 70 will also come in Bleu Caddy, 70 in Glacier Blanc and 70 in Rouge Sismique - a reference to the iconic photo in which Jean-Charles Redele chose three tricoloured A106s to officially present his first production car bearing the logo of the brand newly created in 1955.
Alpine is further updating its lineup with a new A110 GTS. Replacing the GT and S versions of the A110, this new variant makes use of the A110 S's chassis and comes powered by a 288bhp engine that delivers a peak torque of 340Nm. Alpine is also offering a new GTS aero kit for the new variant.
Derived from the A110 R aero kit, the GTS kit includes a front splitter, side skirts, rear spoiler and rear wing with carbon-fibre gooseneck mounts. 18-inch GT Race wheels accompanied by Brembo brake callipers, available in a choice of six colours are also available.
