Alpine has announced a host of activities to celebrate the centenary of the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
The firm will be unveiling a new LMDh hypercar, which is set to compete in the premier class of endurance racing come 2024. A teaser image accompanies this announcement, although little is revealed in it other than the fact that the car will sport the number '36' across its side.
Those that don't follow Le Mans will also have something to look forward to: Alpine has announced that it will be paying tribute to the most prestigious endurance race with a limited edition A110 R Le Mans (find out more about the Alpine A110 R here). Also on display at the centennial race will be the A290_(beta). The car will be available to view at the Le Mans Village and Alpine Paddock Centre from 7 to 12 June 2023. Described as a forerunner of a future electric urban sportscar from the firm, the beta version of the A290 sports a matt white colour, and marks the firm's transition into electric power.
The Alpine Alpenglow, a concept car presented at the Paris Motor Show in October 2022, will also be exhibited from 7 to 12 June in the Hydrogen Village with the Automobile Club de l'Ouest. With its astonishing proportions and new technology, this futuristic concept car features a hydrogen-powered internal combustion engine and two 700-bar cylindrical hydrogen tanks on either side of the vehicle.
