Aston Martin reveals the Valhalla hybrid supercar
16 Jul 2021|865 views
Aston Martin has taken the Valhalla concept car into production reality as an extraordinary, truly driver-focused mid-engined hybrid supercar.
The Aston Martin Valhalla will serve as a technological showcase with its chassis, aerodynamic, and electronics expertise forged in Formula One, as well as its cutting-edge hybrid powertrain technology at its heart.

The engine is also said to be the most advanced, responsive and highest performing flat-plane crankshaft V8 engine ever fitted to an Aston Martin. It will rev up to 7,200rpm and develop 740bhp, all sent exclusively to the rear axle.
A lightweight exhaust system with active flaps will deliver an authentic Aston Martin sound character, while its top-exit tailpipes will maximise visual and aural drama. Supplementing this new V8 engine is a 201bhp battery hybrid system utilising a pair of electric motor, with one mounted on the front axle and the other on the rear axle, bringing the Valhalla's combined power output to a total of 937bhp.
An exclusively designed and built eight-speed dual-clutch transmission will put all that power on the road. It features an e-reverse feature, utilising the electric motors to reverse the car and thus saving weight by negating the need for a conventional reverse gear, and is linked to an electronic limited-slip differential on the rear axle for maximum traction and handling agility.
The Aston Martin Valhalla also utilises a carbon fibre tub for maximum stiffness with minimum weight penalty. The Valhalla also features Formula One style push rod front suspension, complete with inboard mounted springs and dampers, reducing unsprung mass.
Together with the rear-end's multi-link design, Multimatic variable spring rate and adaptive spool valve damper units will provide adjustable ride frequency for exceptional performance on road and track.
In the cockpit, a pared-back design will offer with clear, simple ergonomics unashamedly focussed around the driver. An innovative new Aston Martin HMI system features a central touchscreen display and incorporates Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Adjustable pedals and steering column will enable the seat bases to be fixed to the chassis structure, while raised footwells will deliver a low hip-to-heel seating position redolent of a Formula One car.
