To be called Cygnet, the move is a radical departure from Aston's range of performance coupes, and is aimed at existing owners whom Aston says already own a small car like the smart ForTwo or similar in addition to their sportier models.
The car may be just a concept for now, but Aston says that it will go into limited production, and first models will go to existing Aston Martin owners, with general sales to follow later. Most of the drivetrain, and the unique 3+1 seating arrangement, will be copied over from the iQ, but the car will be customised according to customers' request, as per any other Aston Martin.
Styling will also be unique, based on the existing Aston family look, with the familiar Aston grille, hood and side vents and the Aston winged badge.
