Audi R8 convertible gets more powerful V8

Now, there's a new, cheaper (that term is relative) V8 powered convertible.
Powered by a Eur5 compatible version of the 4.2 litre, direct injected V8, the new car gets an additional 10-hp. Bringing the total power output from 420 hp, to 430 hp.
This is good for a 0-100 km/h run of 4.8 seconds, and a top speed of 299 km/h. It does all that, while returning MPG figures of 20.9 combined mpg.
Not bad for an "entry level" supercar.
The new engine will also be available in next year's R8 coupé.
The R8 Spyder 4.2 FSI (Fuel Stratification Injection™aka, direct injection), has a power folding fabric roof, which peels away in 19 seconds. And, it also gets heated, power adjustable seats, seatbelt mounted, bluetooth microphones, and special metallic paint.
UK deliveries begin in January 2011.
