Audi R8 e-tron delay sounds alarms of facing the axe

The Audi R8 e-tron recently set the fastest lap record for a production electric vehicle at the Nurburgring, which by all counts should be a positive booster for its production. We love to think that, but a new report has surfaced reporting the contrary - the R8 e-tron is in trouble.

All development work on the e-tron has been halted until further notice. This comes across as shocking as the model was said to be near completion and ready for launch later this year.

The model is reportedly under review at the request of R&D chief Wolfgang Durheimer. This means the car will not only be delayed but possibly face the axe. The reason for the sudden review and halt is unknown, but speculations have gathered the reason to simply be, not having enough customers to support the model's development and eventual launch.

Another victim to the nature's law of 'Demand and Supply', although we hope not.
