Returning to the heart of the Orchard Road fashion belt, nearly 400 esteemed guests at the Audi Red Carpent Night 2014, the gala dinner curtain raiser to the Audi Fashion Festival, received a red carpet welcome upon entering the Tent@Orchard at the Ngee Ann City Civic Plaza.
Kicking off with a surprise musical serenade of Carmen Medley and Lakme Duet by The 7 Sopranos, guests were then presented with the progressive designs of the Audi Star Creation (ASC) Showcase.
A regional fashion design competition aimed at uncovering local and Asian talents, three winners were awarded a SGD$10,000 cash prize by Audi Singapore.
Of the three winners of ASC, Rebecca Corine Lam from Hong Kong took home the Audi Young Designer Award, an additional cash prize of SGD$10,000 for having designed a creation 'Zhi' (paper in Mandarin Chinese) that best embodied the Audi design spirit of innovation, technology and progression.
In keeping with this year's theme, the 'Art of Progress', renowned couture designer Rubin Singer unveiled his spectacular Fall/Winter 2014 collection with a special presentation conceived for the Audi Fashion Festival 2014. This is the label's Asian premiere.
The Audi Red Carpet Night also saw one of Audi's own visionary creations - featuring the most exquisite craftsmanship and unparalleled technology - the exciting new Audi A8. Setting new standards of sophistication, the Audi A8 is now available at the Audi Centre Singapore priced at S$432,200 for the Audi A8 3.0 TFSI and S$534,000 for the Audi A8 4.0 TFSI.
Other highlights of the night included an exclusive preview by the cast of the hit musical, Mama Mia, ahead of its debut in Singapore in November 2014.
