Audi reveals 621bhp RS6 Avant GT

The Audi RS6 Avant, with its 4.0-litre V8 pushing out a total of 591bhp, can scarcely be considered a regular car. But it looks like Audi is keen to push yet more power from its autobahn-storming stationwagon. Enter, this Audi RS6 Avant GT.
The new performance wagon is said to be inspired by the RS6 GTO concept - a car conceived by 12 apprentices and built with the support of Audi Design and itself inspired by the 1989 Audi 90 quattro IMSA GTO - and sports an exterior fitting for what is claimed to be the pinnacle of the model series (the lineup also includes the RS6 Avant Performance).
You've no doubt already noticed the car's sporty decal pack. Opt for your Audi RS6 Avant GT with an Arkona White finish alongside high-gloss white wheels, and these decals will come in the traditional black, grey, and red colours of Audi Sport. Those who opt to have their car finished in Nardo grey or Mythos black alongside matte black wheels, meanwhile, will get decals in black and grey tones.
And its more than just stickers that this Audi RS6 Avant GT gets. At the front, the car gets a new grille and a new splitter, while the bonnet of the car is also now made from carbon fibre. Also made from the material are the car's wheel arches, which get new air outlets designed to reduce air pressure in the wheel arch while improving brake cooling.
And at the rear, the car comes with a diffuser complete with a vertically centred reflector to add to its visual width, a double wing said to be motorsport-inspired, and black 'RS6 GT' lettering. The car also gets its roof rails removed to give it a flatter and sportier silhouette - a touch done for the first time in the history of the RS6 Avant.
Backing these new visual upgrades is a raised total output for the Audi RS6 Avant GT. Total power from the car now stands at 621bhp, while peak torque has been raised to a total of 850Nm.
And to keep all this power reined in, the Audi RS6 Avant GT not only comes with the RS ceramic brake system as standard, but also gets the centre differential from the RS6 Avant Performance as well as a sport differential with model-specific tuning at the rear axle, on top of an adjustable coilover suspension - another first for the Audi RS6 Avant.
If these are not enough to convince you to secure one, Audi is giving an additional special touch to the Audi RS6 Avant GT. Unlike the regular RS6 Avant, the GT will not be entirely assembled in Neckarsulm. Instead, the half-completed cars will head to Bollinger Hofe (where the Audi R8 and Audi e-tron GT are built), where finally assembly is carried out by seven experienced employees at three assembly stations set up especially for this exclusive special edition, ensuring the best conditions to finish the unique stationwagon.
Only 660 examples of the Audi RS6 Avant GT will be built.
