As Remembrance Day observations continue in the U.K., Bentley has pulled the covers off a one-of-a-kind Bentayga EWB Mulliner, designed specially for the 80th anniversary of D-Day as a tribute to the nation's Armed Forces.
As seen on many other tribute vehicles for the day, the special Bentayga EWB Mulliner sports a poppy-studded wrap, but puts its own specific spin on things: Look closely, and you'll be able to count a total of 80 poppies dotted over the car and pouring out of a map of northern France.
Bentley has revealed that each poppy is meant to mark a sacrifice made during the war, while the map reflects the journey from England's southern coast to Northern Europe. The brand also states that the car as a whole is intended symbolise its recognition of those who served in the war, as well as the legacy they continue to leave behind.
As its name suggests, Bentley Mulliner - the brand's bespoke commissioning division - had a key role in bringing the special car to life. Also crucial to the commemorative project, however, was Bentley's BeReady network: A Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging (DIBE) network that provides a supportive space for veterans and acting reservists.
Now on a journey across the U.K. to mark this year's events, the special Remembrance Day Bentayga EWB has already featured as a course car in the recently-concluded Race of Remembrance, and is currently back at Bentley's Crewe headquarters, where the brand's employees will gather in reflection.
On 13 November, the car will then move to His Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant of Cheshire Awards.
