BMW delivers first all electric BMW i3 in the U.S.

Charles Rabie, a Boston resident and Tufts University Professor of Practice, became the first person in the U.S. to receive the all new BMW i3 electric vehicle at the BMW of Boston dealership. Rabie is not new to EVs and in fact, has been driving a BMW ActiveE since 2012.
Hundreds of BMW i3 vehicles are currently at U.S. facilities ready to be delivered to customers nationwide, ushering in a new era of electromobility.
The BMW i3 is the first of the BMW i vehicles constructed from the ground up primarily of carbon fibre to enter the U.S. market. With 170bhp and 249Nm of torque from a hybrid-synchronous electric motor, the fully electric BMW i3 is electrified by a 22-kWh lithium-ion battery, good for up to 160km of emissions free commute.
The BMW i3 is has a base recommended price of $41,350 (S$51,833) while the range extender model starts at $45,200 (S$56,659) in the U.S.
