BMW has revealed more of what will be the first BMW Films production in seven years.
Set to make its world premiere at the 76th Cannes Film Festival (that BMW is supporting with more than 200 electric vehicles), the film, titled The Calm, will feature the all-electric i7 M70 xDrive, alongside stars including Pom Klementieff and Uma Thurman.
The two play secret agents who have been summoned for a meeting in Cannes. However, before their objective can be completed, the duo is confronted separately by mysterious adversaries. Klementieff narrowly escapes a hijacking after an action-packed tussle in the rear of the BMW i7 M70 xDrive. Later on, she discovers that Thurman has had a similar altercation (off-screen) in her hotel room, prompting the pair to team up. With gripping suspense that will be familiar to BMW Films fans, the two combine their efforts in the Hotel Martinez to piece together their secret mission.
The Calm will make its world premiere in the rear passenger area of the BMW i7 via the Theatre Screen - a 31-inch 8K panoramic display that extends down from the headliner and spans across the width of the interior. This will pair with the 36-speaker Bowers and Wilkins Diamond Surround Sound System. The Calm will be available to watch on BMW's Youtube channel here from 17 May 2023.
