BMW takes double win for best engines award

For the third time since Ward's 10 Best Engines began in 2006, BMW has received the honour with its petrol-powered, 300 hp 3.0-litre twin-turbo inline-six engine. A total of 11 models are being driven by this unit, ranging from the 135i to the X6 xDrive35i.
The other title winner was BMW's all-aluminium inline-six turbo-diesel. With 265 hp and a whopping 575 Nm of torque, the 3.0-litre engine can get the 335d Sedan to 100 km/h in 6 seconds flat. In the X6 xDrive35d, the car takes just 6.9 seconds to get from standstill to a hundred.
