Borneo Motors Launches new Toyota Corolla Altis (finally)

The launch prices of these two new Corollas start from $67,388 with Borneo's "Classic Scheme" OTR price without insurance for the 1598cc 3ZZ-FE variant. For the money, you get loads of safety devices such as ABS, brake assist, electronic brake-force distribution, airbags, immobilizer, a proper trip computer and, the best part - a telescopic wheel, which is a major factor for driver comfort and adjustability.


There's also the venerable 1.8 litre Altis equipped with a 1ZZ-FE engine found in the Toyota Celica SS1, and the MR-S alike. For $76.988, it comes with HID lamps, Optitron dials, 4 speed sequential shift, 6 speakers, 8-way power seats and automatic rain sensors. In addition, it generates a good 170nm of torque at 4200rpm.


Perhaps one area that might be lacking would be the torsion beam rear suspension, and it would be interested to see how that would hold up in terms of comfort and handling in our road test, coming very soon!
