Bridgestone reinvents premium SUV tyres with the all new Alenza 001

The popularity of the Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) has grown steadily due to its combination style and performance. One variation is the urban SUV - characterised by its stylish looks, dynamic handling and powerful engine - where the performance of the tyre is essential to its performance and safety. To address the needs of SUV drivers in this growing segment, Bridgestone is proud to introduce the Alenza, its flagship model designed exclusively for SUVs.

Developed using Bridgestone's cutting-edge tyre research and development, the Alenza meets the intricate and challenging demands associated with today's urban SUVs by providing a balance of comfort, safety, best-in-class on-road driving experience and high-level braking performance.

The Alenza 001 is the flagship model in this new tyre line and was developed using Ultimat Eye, Bridgestone's proprietary optimisation process and indoor testing facility. A clear visualisation of tyre contact surface behaviour under actual riding conditions has enabled the engineering team to develop stronger performance and safety features in this new product.

As testament to the Alenza's performance and outstanding technology, the Alenza 001 has been selected as an original fitment tyre for several premium vehicle manufacturers' SUVs. With a Multi-Round Block Structure, the Alenza 001 is designed to provide instant steering response, straight-line stability and excellent wet handling, as well as enhance wet braking. This is achieved by an optimally rounded rib edge, which raises the tyre's contact pressure at the rib centre.

Rounding the tyre block's end section prevents the edges from curving inwards while braking. The tyre makes flat contact with the road and this results in high-level braking performance. 3D M-shaped small grooves are made midway through the cross section of the tyre. This new tyre compound and special pattern design prevent irregular wear by reducing the movement of tyre tread, and give the Alenza 001 an 11 percent longer tyre life compared to Bridgestone's other SUV tyres.

The Alenza 001 will be available in Singapore from 10^th April 2017. It is suitable for any U.S.A, European and Asian premium SUV car model. This new line of SUV tyres comes in 44 different sizes, ranging from 16 to 22 inches in diameter and 35 to 70 series tyre profile.
