Porsche Experience Centres continue to open across the globe, and BYD has been forced to respond.
The Chinese firm has officially opened its first all-terrain circuit in Zhengzhou, described as a first in China designed specifically for New-Energy Vehicles.
The circuit is said to house a total of eight experience zones, offering visitors the opportunity to perform water crossings or climb sand dunes, on top of more traditional off-roading experiences. This sand dune, by the way, features a 29.6m vertical drop and a 28-degree slope, and is said to have been certified by Guinness World Records as the highest and largest dune-climbing facility for car testing.
And that water crossing experience? It's said to stretch 70m long, and has been designed exclusively for the Yangwang U8, and will offer visitors the chance to observe the vehicle maneuvering forward, turning, or reversing in the water.
BYD hopes the all-terrain circuit will serve as venue for track racing, professional racer training and diverse circuit experiences, and to further popularise New Energy Vehicles in China. The firm is also set to open two similar facilities in Hefei and Shaoxing.
