BYD has just unveiled the latest addition to its lineup in Singapore, the Seal 6 EV, at a launch event held at the Shangri-La Singapore on 1 October 2025. This new model has been introduced at the height of BYD's sales in Singapore, with the brand announcing its position as the number one car brand in Singapore with the highest number of cars sold for nine consecutive months.
The BYD Seal 6 EV's lineage traces back to the BYD F3DM, the world's first mass-produced plug-in hybrid car, way back in 2008. The F3DM was then replaced by the BYD Qin DM, in 2013, with the lineup updated over the years, leading to the Seal 6 EV.
Like the rest of BYD's lineup here, the Seal 6 EV is part of BYD's Ocean Series.
On the exterior, you'll first notice the Ocean-X face, featuring a pair of sharp Double L head lights, creating a striking presence - the front-end reminds of another popular BYD in Singapore, the Atto 3. However, unlike the popular SUV, the Seal 6 EV is a sleek sedan that features a streamlined and smooth side profile, aiding in aerodynamics, all while looking sharp and impressionable.
Hop inside and you'll be treated to the sight of a modern, minimalistic cabin that's stylish and intuitive. In the middle of the dashboard, you'll find the familiar rotatable touchscreen that the brand is known for, and in this instance, it is a 12.8-inch display that puts entertainment, navigation and vehicle controls well within your reach.
The 12.8-inch rotating touchscreen display offers Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity; meanwhile, a wireless charging pad ensures that your phone stays charged
Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, allows seamless smartphone integration; meanwhile the wireless charging pad will keep your device juiced and ready.
Despite being an affordable mid-size sedan, the Seal 6 EV is equipped with ventilated driver and front passenger seats that will keep you cool in Singapore's often sweltering weather. Additionally, a large panoramic sunroof allows you the option to let in more natural light into the cabin of your car for an airy atmosphere. Cargo space is also abundant, with a boot space of 460-litre and an additional frunk that offers an additional 65-litre of storage space.
The Seal 6 isn't record-breakingly fast like the brand's YangWang U9, but it puts out a very useable 95kW for peppy city drives
The BYD Seal 6 EV is a single-motor rear-wheel drive model that fits into the Cat A COE category. It puts out 95kW (127bhp) and completes the century sprint in 10.9 seconds. With its 56.64kWh blade battery, the Seal 6 EV manages a maximum range of 425km, keeping range anxiety at bay.
The BYD Seal is currently available in Singapore at a launch price of $179,888 (Guaranteed COE inclusive), making it the most affordable sedan from the brand at the moment.
