Car park at Terminal 1 to close temporarily as part of trial

The Straits Times reported that the open-air carpark at Changi Airport's Terminal 1 will close temporarily from 2:00am this Friday, 17^th October, to 2:00am next Tuesday, 21^st October, as a dry run in preparation for the carpark's permanent closure later this year.

Changi Airport Group (CAG) said they would test out the new parking and pick-up arrangements in a media release on Tuesday.

The changes during this four-day period are:

1. T1's open air carpark will be closed and all T1 parking should be at Terminal 2 (T2).

2. The T1 Arrival pick-up point will be moved from its current position across from the carpark to a new location outside the T1 Arrival Hall.

Road signs and lane markings will guide motorists to the relocated facilities, and signs will also be put up inside T1 and T2. A free shuttle bus service will be added to supplement the existing Skytrain service for transfers between the two terminals. Airport staff and traffic marshalls will also be deployed to provide assistance.
