Chevrolet has introduced the 2024 Silverado EV: A reimagining of the brand's best-selling nameplate, packed with the power and capability expected of a Chevy truck.
Built to compete against the Ford F-150 Lightning, the Chevrolet Silverado EV is based on General Motors advanced Ultium EV Platform, allowing to vehicle to boast performance figures which include a range of close to 644km according to GM’s own estimates.
17-inch infotainment screen pairs with an 11-inch driver instrument display in the Chevrolet Silverado RST Alongside that impressive range is a power output of 651bhp, with 1,058Nm of torque available on the high-spec RST variant when set into its 'Open Watts' maximum power drive mode.
This gives the Chevrolet Silverado a GM-estimated zero to 96km/h sprint time of less than 4.5 seconds. The vehicle will also be able to be charged via direct current at speeds of up to 350kW.
High spec RST models also get adaptive air suspension that enables the vehicle to be raised or lowered up to 50mm.
At the front, the design of the Silverado has been sculpted to efficiently direct air to the sides of the body, aiding the truck to achieve what is claimed to be one of the lowest drag coefficients of any pickup truck of its class.
The Silverado EV will be offered exclusively as a Crew Cab model, which utilises a shorter front overhang for more spaciousness in the cabin while enhancing forward vision. The second row is pushed rearward in this bodystyle, allowing tall passengers to stay comfortable no matter where they sit.

On the high-spec RST models, the storage capacity of the 1,603mm bed is maximised thanks to an available Multi-Flex Midgate, which folds down the wall between the cabin and the bed to expand the total length available for storage to just over 2,743mm.
An available tonneau cover allows items such as lumber or a kayak to be loaded into a fully lockable, weatherproof storage compartment.
Step inside an RST Chevrolet Silverado EV and a 17-inch infotainment screen stands ready, paired with an 11-inch driver instrument display. An additional head-up display with a field of view of over 14 inches, a ensures that a driver will have any information he/she needs.
