| CAT | Premium | Change | Quota | No. of bids |
| A | $109,000 | ▼ $1,002 | 1,285 | 1,587 |
| B | $129,890 | ▲ $14,889 |
806 | 1,514 |
| C | $76,389 | ▲ $389 | 282 | 406 |
| E | $125,001 | ▲ $3,991 | 276 | 466 |
You hear that? That's the sound of thousands of disappointed sighs.
Premiums have bounced back this COE bidding session, with Cat B and E both climbing after what looked like the first crack in the dam last session. Premiums for Cat B in particular saw quite the spectacular return, making a $14,889 gain after last session's $16,888 drop. The various roadshows held across our island in the past two weeks alongside the various 11.11 offers being thrown about by local dealers all could have contributed to this jump.
However, there's a silver lining for those shopping for more affordable cars: Premiums for Cat A have continued to fall this session, even after last session already saw it taking on a significant $11,998 slip. And the total number of bids submitted in Cat A didn't rise above the available quota by too much this session either. Could it be time to start thinking about a new car for the upcoming Lunar New Year?
