Cupra has unveiled its new Formentor, its successful crossover SUV, and its new Leon, which will be available as a five-door hatchback and as a Sportstourer.
The exterior of both cars now feature the Curpa logo on their front bonnets and a bold centre point to their shark-nosed face, which defines the vehicles' aggressive look alongside the use of triangular Matrix LED lights and a big, bold lower mouth.
Both the Cupra Leon and Cupra Formentor now feature a shark-nosed face amplifying their visual aggressiveness
Cupra has also added two new matt colours to the palette: Century Bronze and Enceladus Grey, both of which were crafted to add more character to the cars.
The interior mixes sportiness and sustainability on top of being equipped with digital technologies and material choices, reflecting the raw emotion of the exterior design, and Coupra promises both cars will deliver a higher-quality feel than its previous models. The bucket seats in both cars now come with either 73% recycled microfibre or environmentally conscious leather.
The digital cockpit will also see a new and improved HMI, which sits alongside a 12.9-inch infotainment system which comes fitted with a retro-illuminated slider. Both cars are also set to feature a new 12-speaker audio system developed in collaboration with Sennheiser Mobility.
Both cars are being offered with a range of petrol-only, mild hybrid, and plug-in hybrid drivetrains, alongside diesel-burning options. A new generation plug-in hybrid will be offered, which is said to be able to deliver a total of 268bhp alongside an electric-only range of up to 100km.
An exclusive powertrain option is also available for the Formentor and Leon Sportstourer. The new petrol engine is able to put out 328bhp and comes paired with torque splitter technology and Akebono brakes.
On top of the world premiere of the Formentor and Leon, Cupra has also announced the creation of Cupra Design, a new standalone design house. Not only will Cupra Design be responsible for the brand's merchandise, it will also work with companies that not only connect with the brand's philosophy but also wish to incorporate Cupra's style into its brands. Cupra's goal with this bespoke department for it to become the go-to place for firms and individuals who like bold and unconventional designs, regardless of product or project.
Cupra has also pulled the covers off two new projects: The first, Cupra and MAM, is a sustainable jewellery brand which offers products are crafted from materials Cupra uses in its vehicle designs said to capture the essence of raw authenticity.
The second project is a collaboration with Marsert, a lighting design studio that Cupra has teamed up with before. The brands will be collaborating on the Dipping Light, a reinterpretation of the brand's lamp. The exclusive piece is said to showcase refinement and sophistication while also being emotional and unconventional.
