Dongfeng 007 launched in Singapore

The Dongfeng brand may be best known here for the adorable little all-electric Box, but all this could soon change.
And that's because the firm has now launched its 007 here at an event held within Funan shopping centre. But the 007 wasn't the only stunner at the event: Also gracing the launch was Jessica Jung, who shared to the many fans who crowded the event how the 007 impressed her after having been ferried about in one example and pulled the covers of the car alongside the Dongfeng team.
Back to the car: Unlike the Box, this new car is a sporty four-door fastback. And it measures in at 4,880mm long and 1,895mm wide (that is, 80mm longer and 20mm wider than the BYD Seal), so it isn’t exactly small either.
But what really sets this 007 apart from the Box is sheer power. And the Dongfeng 007 has plenty of it to spare. Offered as two variants at launch here in Singapore, customers will be able to get their own 007 with either an output of 200kW or 400kW.
Pick the 200kW variant and your car will come with an electric motor that powers the rear axle, allowing it to crack the century sprint in just 5.8 seconds. The 400kW variant, meanwhile, sends its power to all four of its wheels, and will see to the same sprint in just 3.9 seconds.
The cabin of the Dongfeng 007 features vegan leather, a 15.6-inch infotainment display, and ventilated front seats
Both variants make use of a 73kWh battery which can be charged at a maximum power of 200kW at a direct current charger or at 6.6kW if you plug into an alternating current charger. This battery gives the 200kW variant of the Dongfeng 007 a claimed range of 650km, while the stated range of the 400kW variant stands at 565km.
Both variants also come with features including a 15.6-inch infotainment display in the cabin, ventilated front seats, a wireless smartphone charger, and a 19-speaker Wanos premium sound system complete with headrest speakers for the driver.
And if you're looking to pair the stunning good looks of this Dongfeng 007 with a more, shall we say, conservative power output, don’t fret. Dongfeng informs us that a Cat A COE-friendly variant is already undergoing homologation here in Singapore. We understand that local authorised distributor Volt Auto is targeting a price that is close to $200,000 for this Cat A COE-friendly variant.
