As part of a collaboration between Nissan and Dongfeng that stretches all the way back to 2017, the Dongfeng Nissan Passenger Vehicle Company (DFN) has announced the launch of the all-new NX8, a mid-sized electrified SUV developed for the Chinese market.
Following the N6 plug-in hybrid sedan and the N7 mid-size electric sedan, the NX8 marks the third model in Nissan's N Series and is available with two powertrain options: A battery electric vehicle (BEV) and a range-extended electric vehicle (REEV).
The EV lineup offers a choice of three grades - 580 Pro, 580 Max, and 650 Max - with a maximum CLTC driving range of up to 650km, 800V architecture, and fast charging that allows it to replenish about 300km in just six minutes.
As for the REEV lineup, it also offers a choice of three grades - 150 Pro, 150 Max, and 310 Max. It can go up to 310km of EV-only CLTC driving range and a total of up to 1,450km.
Inside, a large 773-litre boot offers a spacious storage option, while a bi-directional onboard refrigerator can be set from -6°C to 55°C. Rear-seat headroom stands at 1,285mm, while additional comfort features include an AI Zero Gravity Seat 2.0 with 25 massage and support airbags, AI contactless airflow control system, Motion sickness prevention technology 3.0, and power-reclining rear seats with ventilation, heating, and massage functions.
As far as tech goes, the NX8 does hold its own, with dual 15.6-inch large displays, the latest Nissan OS 2.0, automatic parking assist function, AI voice assistant, and an AR-HUB that's approximately 63 inches.
DFN has said that sales of the NX8's BEV option has begun on 8 April 2026, while deliveries of the REEV models are scheduled to commence from mid-to-late May.
