Entry level BMW 114d added to 1 Series lineup and set to arrive

BMW has announced in a press release that it will be adding the all-new 114d to the BMW 1 Series family. This entry level model represents a more economical model for the 1 Series lineup.In terms of drivetrain, the new 114d is powered by a 4-cylinder, 1.6-litre diesel engine with the TwinPower Turbo technology that produces 95bhp and a peak torque of 235Nm. It is capable of accelerating from 0-100km/h in under 12.2 seconds with a top speed of 185km/h.
On the economical side of things, BMW says that the 114d's average fuel consumption is between 4.1 and 4.3L/100Km while CO2 emissions stand at approximately 109g/km. The model also comes fitted with the company's EfficientDynamics technology so it has an electronic power steering, auto start/stop function, shift point indicator, brake energy recuperation and tyres with reduced rolling resistance.
